Former minister sorry for 'mistake'

Former mining minister Adam Brooks has apologised to Tasmanians for an "honest mistake" which sparked his resignation from cabinet.

Mr Brooks, once the director of a company operating in the mining sector, denied using an email account linked to the business when questioned during a parliamentary committee but has since back-pedalled, claiming he hadn't understood the question and on Monday resigned under pressure.

"I have already apologised to the premier and my colleagues. Today I apologise to parliament and the people of (his electorate) Braddon ... I am sorry," Mr Brooks told the lower house on Wednesday.
