A commercial Tasmanian fishing company has pleaded guilty to three charges brought by the state's Environment Protection Authority, including pollution by unlawful disposal of waste water.

The charges against Seafish Tasmania stem from 2012 events at Triabunna on the state's east coast and were dealt with in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Wednesday, with EPA Director Wes Ford pleased with the outcome.

"At times we need to prosecute people in cases where their actions are proven to have resulted in material or serious environmental harm," he said.

The matter is due for mention again in October.
