Fisherman missing off Tasmanian coast

A fisherman is missing off Tasmania's south coast after the dinghy he was in overturned.

The incident happened off Red Cape on Tuesday afternoon, Tasmania Police say.

A rescue helicopter was sent to the area about 2.40pm in response to an emergency beacon.

A male diver was found stranded on remote rocks and was winched to safety.

But a deckhand who was also onboard has not been found.

The search will continue at first light on Wednesday.
