Costly flood clean up for Tas farmers

Many Tasmanian farmers have been left to go it alone, minus government support, with a huge clean-up task after devastating floods.

Federal Labor MP Brian Mitchell on Wednesday said 20 communities across the state were affected by the June floods, but only eight are eligible for funding of up to $10,000.

A primary producer clean-up grant is needed to help farmers who are struggling with broken fences, paddocks littered with rocks and still underwater, and hand-feeding livestock.
