Compo claim of $2.3m in Tas shooting case

A Tasmanian woman who lost two fingers during the daylight shooting murder of a friend has increased by $1 million her compensation claim against the gunman.

Josephine Ramos Cooper wants more than $2.3 million for six-hours-a-day care and loss of future income after being injured in the May 2015 shooting, during which a jury has since found Klaus Dieter Neubert, 75, guilty of murdering his estranged wife Olga Neubert.

"Certainly the figures have increased, but they have only increased in terms of the future assisted care," Ms Cooper's lawyer on Monday told Tasmania's Supreme Court, which received an original compensation claim of $1.3 million.
