Cars 'vital' in Tas man's suspected murder

Police believe details on two cars will provide "vital evidence" about the suspected murder of Hobart man Dwayne Davies.

The 47-year-old hasn't been seen since he went missing on Friday night.

A house in Elderslie is being forensically examined but police are still seeking details on two cars potentially involved with Mr Davies' disappearance.

The silver 2009 Hyundai Tucson and 2004 white Nissan Navara may have been in Elderslie, Broadmarsh, Pelham, New Norfolk or Risdon Vale on Friday or Saturday.

"We believe that information about the movements of the vehicles will provide vital evidence about the suspected murder of Mr Davies," Detective Inspector Steve Burk says in a statement on Thursday.

"Any sighting or any detail about them could be relevant."

Police have not released the registration details of the two cars.
