Bushfire risk eases north of Hobart

Authorities have downgraded the threat level of a bushfire burning at New Norfolk, north of Hobart.

The Tasmania Fire Service on Friday afternoon advised the blaze had the potential to put the town at high risk, but a couple of hours after it was first reported, the alert was revised, with no threat to the community.

Fourteen tankers and two aircraft continue to battle the blaze.
