Attempted murder charge after Tas stabbing

Police have charged a man with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed another man during an incident in northwest Tasmania.

Officers were called to the Burnie suburb of Wivenhoe about 9.30am AEDT on Monday where a 20-year had suffered a wound to his chest.

"His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, however he continues to undergo treatment," detectives said in a statement adding that a 21-year-old man is due to face court.
