Man charged over Tony Abbott headbutt

A 38-year-old man has been charged over an alleged assault of former prime minister Tony Abbott in Hobart.

Mr Abbott says he was headbutted on Thursday afternoon as he walked to his hotel along the city's waterfront.

Police on Friday charged a North Hobart man with common assault. He was granted bail and is expected to front court on October 23.
