'I'll never forget it': Sydney's damaging winds rip roof off home
Sydney residents have been rattled, one woman even hospitalised, after damaging wind battering the city tore the roof off a home.
Rosebery local Christine Walker heard screams from her neighbour when the wind started to lift the roof off her home.
"The lady from the house where the roof came out screaming, 'my wall's collapsing, my wall is collapsing'," Ms Walker told 9News.

"Next minute a roof come flying over, I'll never forget it as long as I live."
The gale-force winds tore the roof off the neighbouring home which is a three-storey building in Rosebery.
Ms Walker was forced to run to safety as the structure flew through the air.
"I could duck and put my hand over my head and I could run into their place, but Sharon got stuck in a corner, so it was very stressful," she said.
Ms Walker added one of her neighbours was taken to hospital due to the shock of the incident.
Another neighbour told 9News they could hear banging every time there was a gust of wind and suddenly the roof lifted off the house.

The NSW State Emergency Services had a busy night in Sydney responding to 183 jobs in the past 24 hours as wind and rain bore down.
Trees have also been downed across the city and the NSW SES is preparing for a busy day ahead.

Speaking from Maroubra Beach this morning, 9News reporter Bianca Balzer said "at times the wind has been enough to pick me off my feet".
She added gusts of up to 100 km/hr are predicted on the coast of Sydney today.
The BoM has issued a marine wind warning for large swathes of the NSW coastline.
Due to the heavy swell, Manly ferries are not running between Circular Quay and Manly.
Buses will replace ferries in both directions.

A Storm Force Wind Warning has been issued for the Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast and Illawarra Coast.
It comes in addition to a gale warning for the following areas: Sydney Enclosed Waters, Coffs Coast, Macquarie Coast, Batemans Coast and Eden Coast.

Strong winds will also be felt across Byron, which was hit by extensive flash flooding earlier this week.
The wind is expected to weaken by this evening.
Hazardous surf will also be felt along the coastline from Byron down to Batemans Coast and Eden Coast, with waves up to five metres expected.
"NSW Police Force, Marine Area Command advise that people should consider staying out of the water and avoid walking near surf-exposed areas," BoM said.
