Thunderstorm over Sydney brings heavy rain and hailstones
A woman has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being trapped in a caravan by a tree that fell during storms in NSW this afternoon.
The 26-year-old suffered injuries to her neck and lower limbs when the tree fell onto the caravan she was in at Wisemans Ferry, 75km north-west of Sydney.
CareFlight said its Rapid Response Helicopter was called to the emergency at 4.45pm and landed on an oval nearby about 20 minutes later.

It took one and a half hours to free the woman, with NSW Ambulance, Rural Fire Service, and Fire and Rescue personnel all involved.
She was flown to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) issued a severe weather warning for the entire area of NSW from the Blue Mountains in the west, to Newcastle in the North and Kiama in the south.
The storm started in the west and quickly moved east towards the coast, bringing large hailstones, heavy rain and strong winds.

Heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding, the BoM said.
The weather warning is in place for people in the Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury, Gosford and Wyong, Sydney, Greater Wollongong and parts of Maitland.
The warning also includes Cessnock, Greater Newcastle and Wollondilly and Wingecarribee areas.

Power outages have already been reported on the Central Coast at Avoca Beach, Copacabana, Davistown and surrounding suburbs.
There are also outages in Arncliffe, Manly, and Wolli Creek.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also in place for the Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains.
The warning also included parts of the Mid North Coast, North West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Lower Western, Upper Western and Snowy Mountains districts.
