Police officer and transport worker assaulted during train ticket check
Two men have been charged after a police officer and a transport worker were allegedly assaulted, leaving the officer needing to go to hospital, at a train station in Sydney's west.
Two police officers stopped two 33-year-old men on a platform at Mount Druitt Station for travelling without a valid ticket about 8.30am.
After they requested the men produce tickets, the men allegedly assaulted a female police officer and a NSW Transport staff member who tried to help the officers.

"It is alleged the men engaged in an altercation with police and one of the female constables was pushed to the ground before she struck her head," police said.
"A 58-year-old NSW Transport staff member attempting to assist police was also allegedly assaulted by the men."
He suffered injuries to his eye and arm and was treated at the scene by paramedics while the officer was taken to Westmead Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
While this allegedly unfolded, more officers swarmed the station and arrested the two men. They were both taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

Both men were charged with travel or attempt travel without valid ticket, two counts of hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, assault police officer, affray and assault police officer cause actual bodily harm.
One of the men faced the additional charge of stalk/intimate intend fear physical harm.
The pair were refused bail and will appear before court today.
