Free trains for Sydney today after rail network chaos last week
Sydney train commuters will ride for free today after a chaotic couple days on the network last week saw multiple services cancelled and others hit with massive delays.
The fare-free day applies to train and metro services throughout Monday on the Sydney network.
Buses, ferries, and the light rail will charge fares as normal.

Premier Chris Minns made the announcement last week after an accident power supply from Strathfield interrupted around the network for at least 24 hours.
Part of a train's rooftop power connector became tangled with overhead powerlines near Homebush just before 2.30pm last Monday, triggering delays on 80 per cent of Sydney's train network.
Minns said a fare-free day was "the least we could do".

Trains were eventually back to normal by Wednesday morning, only for days of rain to add further pressure to the timetable.
At one point, services did not stop at Lewisham in the city's Inner West because the station's underground thoroughfare was flooded.
Minns has also proposed an independent review into the current transport system, focusing on maintenance, service punctuality, and communications with commuters.
