'What are you doing?': Man catches stranger under his car as thefts skyrocket in Sydney
A confused man has returned to his car in a Sydney park to find a stranger underneath it.
The man then had a surprisingly polite conversation with the suspected attempted thief who was scrounging around under the Honda Accord at Bankstown Central.
In footage shared online, the unknown man can be seen holding a saw, with a jack lifting the Honda up so he can move around underneath.

A Sydney man was shocked to return to his car and find someone underneath it. Nine
"Why are you taking my car? What are you doing with my car?" the confused owner asks in the footage.
"Is this yours? I didn't know this was yours," the man says in a startlingly polite reply.
He goes on to claim he was sent by a friend.
It comes as cars across Sydney are being targeted by thieves for a hidden part that can be worth more than gold.
Thieves have been caught trying to saw off catalytic converters from underneath cars in public places across the city.

The converters contain precious metals including rhodium and platinum, which can be sold by thieves for a substantial profit.
Bankstown Central worker Rami Federico called the act filmed in the car park "ridiculous" given it took place in broad daylight.
"I can't even wrap my head around it," Federico said.
9News understands the parts are being sold to scrap yards for anything between $50 and $1000.

Mechanic Shev Fahri said his business is getting calls from everywhere. 9News
Stealing catalytic converters has been an issue in the US for some time but thefts have been skyrocketing across Sydney over the past 12 months.
"West, north, south, east it doesn't matter. We're getting calls from everywhere," mechanic Shev Fahri said.
Last November a CCTV image was taken after five converters were stolen from Warringah Mall.
This week, police warned residents that Toyotas were being targeted in the Caringbah and Taren Point industrial areas.
Not only are Toyotas being targeted, Fahri warned older models of Hondas and Subarus are on thieves' hit lists.
