Sydney teen stabbed with fence paling

A teenager has been stabbed with a fence paling during an attempted break in at a house in Sydney's west.

Police were called to Bramble Place at Whalan about 2.30am Thursday after reports a group was causing trouble there.

The group allegedly tried to break into a house, breaking a screen door.

An 18-year-old man told police he was stabbed with a fence paling in the incident.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene then taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Two other teens, a male and female both aged 17, and a 19-year-old man were arrested nearby and are being questioned by police.
