A Sydney teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting his 16-year-old student in a high school classroom.

The man was arrested at his Leppington home in Sydney’s south west about 10.30pm.

His alleged victim told her parents she had been sexually assaulted in a classroom of an Inner West high school on Monday.

The 50-year-old was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with sexual intercourse with a person under care.

He was granted strict conditional bail at Campbelltown Local Court today.

The teacher is due to re-appear in court on December 5.
