Sydney taxi driver assaulted

A taxi driver has allegedly been assaulted by a passenger in Sydney's east.

The driver was treated by paramedics for a suspected fractured arm and bruising about 12.30am on Saturday at Bondi Junction before being taken to Prince of Wales Hospital, police say. His passengers, a man and a woman, had left the scene.

A 34-year-old man has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is due to face Waverley Local Court in December.
