Speed limits to be lowered in two Sydney suburbs
Roads in two areas north of Sydney's CBD are about to have their speed limits lowered due to "high pedestrian activity" and an extension of existing school zones.
The speed limits will change from 50km/h to 40km/h on roads in the local government areas of Willoughby and Ryde within the next two weeks from July 27.
The roads of Herbert Street, Frederick Street, Westbourne Street and Reserve Road (south) in St Leonards will drop to 40km/h.

"This speed limit change introduces a High Pedestrian Activity Area in the town centre to provide a more pedestrian friendly environment," Transport for NSW said.
Macpherson Street and Forsythe Street in West Ryde and See Street in Meadowbank will have a change to 40km/h due to school zone extensions.
"The existing school zone will be extended to improve safety of students using the pedestrian access point," the notice reads.
