Sydney shopping centre evacuated as water gushes through ceiling

Shoppers have been evacuated from Narellan Town Centre, in Sydney's south-west, after water spewed through the ceiling and flooded parts of the centre.

Emergency services were called to reports of water leaking from the roof of the centre on Camden Valley Way about 11.15am, the NSW Police Force said in a statement.

An evacuation of the centre is underway, after centre management made the decision to do so as a precaution.

There are reports about 3000 have been forced to leave.

Footage shows streams of water gushing from the ceiling outside Woolworths, with water spreading over much of the floor.

Traffic is heavy in the nearby area, and police have urged shoppers and motorists to avoid the scene.

There are no reports of injuries.
