Police hunting gunman who shot Sydney man in both legs

A gunman remains on the run and after a man was shot in both legs at a home in Sydney’s western suburbs.

Emergency services were called to the unit on Browne Parade in Warwick Farm about 4.45am.

A 22-year-old man was found at the home with multiple gunshot wounds and was treated at the scene before he was transported to Liverpool Hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

Authorities are now searching for two men, who were both seen fleeing the scene on foot.

The first man is described as 183cm tall, of a medium build and wearing light coloured pants, a light hooded jumper and pink gloves.

The second is of a similar height, but solid in build and with facial hair. He was wearing dark coloured pants and a dark hooded top, and was carrying a rifle.

It’s believed they travelled from and returned to the Hume Highway where they may have fled in a vehicle.

Rejani Thakur, a worried mother and local resident, told TODAY the shooting comes just months after the last incident.

"Two months before in the other building, the same thing happened - it was a gun shot," she said.

"I'm just thinking, is it safe to stay here?

"It's been only two months before this thing happened, and today again there are police cars in front of my house."

A crime scene has been established and police are appealing for information from the public to assist them in their inquiries.
