Fish killed, windows and doors smashed in break-in at Sydney school

Fish tanks have been destroyed leaving animals dead and classrooms trashed after a group of people broke into a school in Sydney's Inner West.

Windows and doors were smashed at the Sydney Secondary College campus in Balmain in the early hours of Sunday, police said.

It's understood up to 20 tanks filled with fish were also targetted, leaving the creatures and algae scattered over the floor, between 3.40am and 5am.

Police have been reviewing CCTV from the school and believe three people, thought to be teenagers or young men, were involved.

It is not yet known if any property was stolen.
