Sydney police pursuit ends with man thrown from crashed Jeep

A man has been thrown from his Jeep after it rolled, hit another car and smashed into a light pole during a police pursuit in Sydney's south.

The 26-year-old allegedly drove his black Wrangler away from police when they tried to stop him on Permanent Avenue in Earlwood about 11pm yesterday, prompting police to start a pursuit.

A short time later, the Jeep struck a gutter, rolled and hit a parked VW Amrok and a pole.

Its driver was thrown from his vehicle and suffered multiple broken bones.

He was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and remains under police guard.

He is expected to be charged.
