Sydney police officer charged with on-duty assault

A male police officer has been charged with common assault after an incident in Newtown, in Sydney’s inner suburbs, earlier this year.
Investigators allege he assaulted a 24-year-old man while on duty on May 8.
The constable will appear at Newtown local court on December 15.
