Sydney man, 20, stabbed in the stomach in Sydney

Police have released the description of a man they want to talk to after a stabbing in Sydney's west early this morning.

Just after 3am police were called to Fairfield Street, where they found a 20-year-old suffering a serious stab wound to the stomach.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The crime scene has been set up and detectives are searching for the person responsible for the attack.

Police believe a man, described as being of Caucasian appearance and at the time of the incident was wearing a white coloured baseball cap, a white t-shirt with a small motif in the centre chest area, dark tracksuit pants and grey shoes, may be able to assit with their inquiries.
