Sydney paraglider in critical condition

A paraglider who crashed into a cliff near Sydney's northern beaches remains in critical condition.

The man had to be rescued by Ambulance Service of NSW after crashing into the side of a cliff at Warriewood on Wednesday afternoon.

In a dramatic rescue, a firefighter and a paramedic were lowered by rope to the man, who reportedly clipped a tree and became entangled in branches on the cliff.

All three were then lowered to the base of the cliff, and the paraglider was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.
