Man charged with drug offences after police pursuit in Sydney CBD

A man is facing multiple drug charges following a police operation in Sydney’s CBD .

Officers carrying out surveillance at 8.30pm last night saw a 29-year-old man allegedly exchanging drugs with another man.

When police attempted to speak to the man, he ran away and was chased by officers.

He was apprehended a short time later inside a shopping centre on the corner of George and Goulburn streets.

Officers seized an amount methylamphetamine, cannabis and cash.

The man was arrested and taken to The Rocks police station.

He was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug and deal with property proceeds of crime.

The man was refused bail and will appear before Sydney Central Local Court today.
