A man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged domestic violence attack in Sydney's west.

Emergency services were called to a Crawley Avenue home in Hebersham and found a woman with head injuries on Friday at 8.50am.

"Police attempted to speak to a man – known to the woman – before he allegedly suffered self-inflicted injuries," NSW Police said in a statement.
