Elderly man dies in hospital after fire rescue from Dover Heights home
An elderly man has died in hospital after a dramatic fire rescue from his Dover Heights home.
Numerous Triple-0 calls alerted authorities to the blaze on Blake Street in Sydney shortly after 9.30am.

Before crews arrived, an off-duty fire fighter broke into the second floor of the building and attempted to rescue the 90-year-old man.
He was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a serious condition and passed away a short time later.
Ross Cohen who lives nearby said: "When I saw the fire here and I came outside and saw it was his house I was absolutely devastated and shocked.
The fire broke out in his Dover Heights home. 9News
"He is the most beautiful, special man, he really, really is and we just had a bond we sit and talk to each other every day."
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
