Heroin, cash and a samurai sword found in raids on six Surry Hills properties

Drugs, weapons, and a "significant amount of cash" have been seized during raids carried out in Sydney's inner city today.

Heavily-armed police from Surry Hills Police Area Command executed six search warrants in Belvoir, Devonshire, and Clisdell Streets.

Five people were arrested after the searches uncovered "an ounce or more" of heroin, a samurai sword, and replica firearms.

A homemade electronic Taser device was also found at one of the properties.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Johnson said the replica guns: "do look quite realistic which is a concern".

All five people are currently assisting police with their inquiries and no charges have yet been laid.
