A Sydney man who blamed the death of his partner’s seven-year-old son on a fall from a pogo stick has been found guilty of murder.

Christian hip hop producer Kodi Maybir blamed the boy’s fatal injuries on the toy, after the child died at his south Sydney music studio in May 2013.

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the basis of criminal negligence but denied murdering the boy.

The Supreme Court jury has today found him guilty of the higher charge, after two days of deliberations.

Justice Robert Allan Hulme said the case was particularly difficult for the jury because it “involves the very tragic death of a seven year old boy”.
