Swimming with sharks is a scary thought for some, but not for these brave divers on the Gold Coast.

Captivating underwater video shows a herd of grey nurse sharks surrounding divers at Nine Mile Reef, off the coast of Tweed Heads.

At least half a dozen sharks are seen in the video, swimming peacefully around the divers accompanied by instructors from Kirra Dive, earlier this week.

The popular dive site attracts an abundance of marine life, including leopard sharks and hammerheads.

The top of the reef is visible 10 metres under the surface.
