'Suspicious package' investigated by bomb squad unit at Melbourne's Southern Cross Station
Reports of a "suspicious package" caused prolonged delays for commuters at Melbourne's Southern Cross Station this morning.
Platforms 14-16 were closed after officers from the Bomb Response Unit were called to the station about 8.20am.
There are currently major delays on the Sunbury, Werribee and Williamstown lines.

Commuters travelling to Southern Cross station are advised to avoid the blocked-off platforms.
