House fire to be investigated after gutting property in Three Bridges, Victoria

A country house gutted by a fire east of Melbourne overnight will be investigated by an arson chemist today.

The property on Little Yarra Road in Three Bridges was engulfed in flames for more than two hours, forcing two women and four children to evacuate.

Vision obtained by 9News shows the wooden country house burnt to the ground.

CFA crews responded to the triple-zero call just before midnight, with 10 vehicles battling to bring the blaze under control.

"Police have been told two women and four children were in the premises at the time but managed to evacuate," a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Several people were assessed at the scene by paramedics, but no one was hospitalised.
