A Victorian farm has been quarantined as authorities await confirmation for a suspected case of deadly anthrax disease, the second in just over a week.

Agriculture Victoria say they expect to receive test results on Sunday after a suspected case of anthrax was detected on a farm in Nyah, in the state's northwest, on Friday.

The infected carcass has been destroyed and Agriculture Victoria will remain at the property to oversee the vaccination of exposed and at-risk animals and to investigate the movement of animals.
