Powered by

A surfer has been winched to safety by a helicopter after being washed onto the rocks at Shelly Beach in Manly, Sydney.

Despite initial reports someone had jumped or fallen onto the rocks, it was a surfer who needed assistance – believed to be a man in his 60s, although his age has not yet been confirmed.

Due to the rough surf conditions, rescue services required helicopter assistance to get to safety.
