Stop anti-abortion activist's tour: Labor

Federal Labor MP Terri Butler has written to the immigration minister urging the government to consider refusing Australian entry to "anti-choice extremist" Troy Newman.

Newman, who wrote a book calling for doctors who perform abortions to be executed, is reportedly due to tour Australia next month to campaign against women's reproductive rights.

"I am concerned that Newman's presence in Australia will cause significant harm to our community," Ms Butler wrote to Peter Dutton, while asking that his visa be referred to determine if it should be cancelled for failing the character test.
