Brass statue worth $13,000 stolen from park in Perth’s western suburbs

An expensive statue has been stolen from the entrance of a popular park in Perth.

The 100kg brass statue was worth about $13,000.

The man who donated the majority of the money had requested the statue as a reminder of his childhood there.

He loved to fish in the Swan River in Dalkeith.

The statue was only discovered to be missing this morning by staff from the city of Nedlands, but it's unknown how long the statue had been gone for.

The park was eight years in the making, by the local members of the Rotary Club and they said a lot of hard work had gone into it.

They are now pleading for whoever stole the statue to bring it back.

The brazen thieves were not caught on CCTV in the area.

Police are still investigating.
