Stolen car linked to drive-by shooting on Stephen Dank's Melbourne home

A stolen luxury wagon could be the key to finding whoever's responsible for a drive-by shooting at the Melbourne home of controversial sports scientist Stephen Dank.
The 52-year-old's forehead was grazed by a bullet when his Ascot Vale house was peppered with shots on July 23.
Investigators today released CCTV footage of a grey 2005 BMW Wagon involved in the drive-by shooting.
It had been stolen from a Cranbourne home earlier in the day.
The car had the number plate TOE 769.
Detective Inspector Stephen Clark says the armed crime squad is working closely with the state's anti-bikie task force to solve the case.
"There are a number of avenues we are exploring," Det Insp Clark said.
He refused to confirm whether police had spoken to members of the Comancheros outlaw motorcycle gang, saying only it was a "really sensitive investigation".
The BMW was found burnt out in Mount Evelyn a day after the shooting.
Dank was last year given a life ban by the AFL anti-doping tribunal following an investigation into violations against 34 current and past Essendon players.
