Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Robertson said the thief was using the van as a cover, as people usually ignored Australia Post vans parked outside homes and businesses.
"He's just going to continue," Det Sen Sgt Robertson told AAP.
The van's registration is YSQ 483, and the driver has been described as Middle Eastern or Indian in appearance, aged in his late 20s to mid-30s, 170cm-175cm tall, with a medium build.
