States take a hit on hospitals, schools

WHAT COAG MEANS IN DOLLARS:

* States get extra $2.9 billion for hospitals between 2017-18 and 2019-20.

* $7 billion was due to be cut in hospital funding under Abbott-Hockey 2014 budget.

* No commitment yet from the federal government to $4.5 billion in Gonksi schools money between 2018 and 2020.

* States remain $8.6 billion worse off by 2020 across hospitals and schools.
