State funeral on Friday for ex-PM Fraser

A state funeral for former prime minister Malcolm Fraser will be held in Melbourne this Friday.

Family, friends and the public are invited to attend the service at Scot's Church starting at 11.30am.

Seating for members of the public will be allocated from 10am, in order of arrival, until the venue reaches capacity.

An overflow area with televised coverage will also be available for those who can't make it inside.

Mr Fraser, who was Liberal prime minister from 1975-1983, died last Friday after a short illness, aged 84.
