'Get used to it': Star Wars actor hits back at racists

A black British actor in the upcoming Star Wars movie has hit back at racist comments made on social media with a short and sharp Instagram post.

John Boyega, who appears as a storm trooper in the yet-to-be-released film, was subjected to a racist backlash after the trailer was released on Friday.

People demonstrated their shock to Boyega's role in the film on Twitter and Reddit, with some even suggesting that Star Wars should be an all-white film.

Some even posted re-edited versions of the trailer without him.

Boyega posted his response on Instagram, with a photo thanking his fans.

"Thank you for all the love and support! The fan mail and the fan art has added to my joy!"

Boyega then shut down the racists by simply saying: "To whom it may concern... Get used to it."
