Police are searching for a driver who hit a pedestrian with their car before driving off in Melbourne's north-west earlier this month.

A 49-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after she was hit by a white Nissan X-Trail SUV at the intersection of McKechnie Street in St Albans about 10.50am on November 15.
