Spiderman toy found in Bill Spedding's work van: report

Police reportedly found a Spiderman figurine inside the work van of Bill Spedding during their search for missing NSW toddler William Tyrrell.

The Daily Telegraph reports the doll was found inside Mr Spedding's Volkswagen van when police descended on his Bonny Hills home, just south of Port Macquarie, as part of the investigation into the suspected abduction of the three-year-old.

William Tyrrell has not been seen since September 12, when he was playing in the backyard of his grandmother's home in Kendall while wearing a Spiderman costume.

Mr Spedding has not been charged over William's disappearance and has repeatedly denied any involvement.

Mrs Spedding told the newspaper her husband, a whitegoods repairman, had been given the doll by one of the children in his care to keep him company during work travel.

"(The child) left it in the van for (Mr Spedding) to keep him company when he was driving," she was quoted as saying.
