Spectacular electrical storm lights up the sky over Sydney

Sydney has been hit by an impressive electrical storm overnight, with a warm summer day culminating in a spectacular closing.

Lightning transformed the sky over the city with many Sydney-siders capturing the show on camera.

Social media lit up with photos and pictures of the weather event.

“Sydney doesn’t do anything by halves,” one person tweeted.

“Some incredible lightning over Sydney,” another said.

Earlier this week, a powerful storm pummelled Sydney with more than 500 lightning strikes causing flights to be delayed and even saw a house burst into flames on the Lower North Shore.
