Special edition 'Quokka' collectible coin to be released in Perth
A special edition coin featuring Perth's beloved quokka will be released next month as part of its Quokka Birthday celebrations.
The first ever collectible quokka coin, manufactured by The Perth Mint, is a one-ounce silver coin.
Half of the 30,000 special edition coins will be marketed overseas to promote the "world's happiest animal" and Western Australia's tourism industry.

It will be available from the coin manufacturer and on Rottnest Island.
"I commend The Perth Mint for producing its first-ever collectable quokka coin," WA Tourism Minister Paul Papalia said.
"The quokka has become WA's undisputed tourism icon so this is a terrific way to celebrate the 'world's happiest animal' and promote the state around the globe for when international tourism can restart."
