Spanish model/actress becomes a nun

A well-known Spanish model and actress has left the world of show business to become a nun.

Olalla Oliveros, 36, has entered the Order of St Michael, turning down an offer to play a lead role in a big budget move to do so.

She said that she decided to join a convent after feeling an "internal earthquake" during a visit to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal.

"The Lord is never wrong," she told NCR.

"He asked if I will follow him, and I could not refuse."

A photo has since emerged showing the former model dressed in a blue habit.

She has now changed her name to Sister Olalla del Sí de María.
