Police hunt men after daytime assault and robbery at Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station

Police are looking for two offenders who assaulted a man and stole his headphones at Melbourne’s Southern Cross station.

Officers say the victim, a 30-year-old Melbourne man, was waiting at the major Melbourne train station about 12.45pm on June 26 when he was approached by two unknown men.

The pair, one with a distinctive tattoo on the left side of his face, assaulted the victim and stole his headphones before boarding an Upfield bound train.

Police have released images of two men they want to talk to about the incident.  9News

They left the train at Macaulay Railway Station about 12.54pm. Police have released CCTV images of the two men.

The first offender is described as being approximately 25-35 years old, Asian appearance, short black hair with a word tattooed on the left side of his forehead.

The second offender was described as being approximately 25-35 years old and of Middle Eastern appearance.
