Disqualified driver to face court after man, 31, struck by car in South Australian town

A woman will face court today after a pedestrian was allegedly struck by a car in the South Australian town of Totness last night.

Police and emergency services attended Mount Barker Road after reports a man had been hit by a car just after 11.15pm yesterday.

The Mount Barker man, aged 31, was taken to the Royal Adelaide with life-threatening injuries.

Police will allege the driver of the car, a 38-year-old woman from Murray Bridge, submitted to a roadside breath test, however refused a further breath analysis when taken back to the police station.

Officers arrested the woman and charged her with aggravated causing harm by dangerous driving, failing to submit to a breath analysis, having a child under the age of 16 present in a vehicle and driving while disqualified.

The woman was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
