The son of a Sydney woman allegedly murdered by her husband has posted a touching tribute to her on his Facebook page.

Elie Boukarim arrived at his parents' Bankstown apartment in time to see his mother Margaret Tannous being taken out on a stretcher at 8.30pm on Monday, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

She was rushed to Liverpool Hospital but died soon after of serious head injuries.

Soon after she was found, her husband George Tannous turned himself in to police.

Early this morning, Elie wrote a heartfelt tribute to his mother on social media.

"My mother, my angel, my life, my queen, the closest person to me, how could this happen to you?" he wrote.

"Everything in this world you sacrificed for me and my sister.

"You suffered for 18 years while another woman would have let go after three months, for us."

George Tannous was refused bail in Bankstown Local Court earlier today after he was charged with murder.
